About us
Why we built it
Gleam It is built on the idea that every item deserves a second chance to shine. What may no longer fit one kid can still bring value, purpose, and joy to another. By giving pre-loved items a new home, Gleam It helps extend their story.
Through a points-based system, Gleam It rewards thoughtful exchange, encouraging families to give, trade, and discover items in a way that's both sustainable and meaningful. Each transaction adds a little more "gleam", not just to the item itself, but to the community and the planet.
Because sometimes, all it takes is a second opportunity for something to shine again.

Meet Mariana, the Founder
My name is Mariana. I am Mexican, I have lived in Europe for eleven years and in Lisbon for almost four. I came here looking to build a better life, and I found one.
I love this city, and Gleam It is part of how I would like to give something back to it.
What we are committed to
Gleam It is meant to be a community rather than a shop. A place where the things our children have finished with get a second opportunity to gleam, instead of feeding another season of buying and discarding.
Keeping it curated
Only things in good condition, so that what your child receives is something you are glad to give them. Second-hand should never feel like settling for less.
Leaving somewhere better behind
I hope this grows past one city and becomes a movement, and that it leaves our children a better planet than the one we found.
The pilot starts here, in Lisbon, with a limited number of founding families.
I am grateful to everyone who has already trusted the Gleam It team enough to be part of this adventure. What we are building is less a marketplace than a community: families helping each other, one outgrown thing at a time.
If there is something in a cupboard that another child could still be using, that is where this starts.
